They've generated a lot of interest and we're having fun watching children gravitate right to them and begin to scoot around the store. We continue to promote the balance bike approach to teaching children how to ride a bike, because it teaches them how to balance, versus training wheels which teach the child how not to balance. If you already have a small childs bike, you can convert it to a balance bike by removing the pedals (or better yet the pedals and cranks). If you'd like to give that a try, we can make the conversion for you for $15. Closeout Bikes July 5, 2010 Noon We have one really nice Batavus Personal Bike still in stock. It has all the typical amenities of a Dutch city bike: chain guard, skirt guard, fenders, rack, lock, lights, bell, kickstand, and even a seat bag with tire repair kit. It's set up as a single speed with a coaster brake, and we have it for sale for $480. We can convert it to a 3-speed with coaster brake for you, which would bump the price to $550. Still several hundred dollars less than regular price. We can ship this anywhere in the lower 48 for an additional $100 - still a bargain for this great city bike!! |
