Sorry for
the late notice, but we're going to be open from 1:30pm to 6pm on Monday March 8th.
Saturday February 20th and Bike Skills 101 Feb 17, 2010 6:00 pm
Apologies for
the weird Saturday hours, but we're going to do it to you again.
This Saturday, the 20th, we will be opening up at 12:30, and we'll close
at 4pm. At 4:30 the doors will be open again for those who have
signed up for our free Bike Skills 101 (Part 1)
class. The class will cover bike nomenclature, bike
selection and fit, and bike maintenance basics such as tool selection,
tire repair, understanding gears, and adjusting brakes and
derailers. If you would like to attend this class, please stop by
the shop, or call me at 541-740-0497, or email
me. The class will run from 4:30 until 6pm. There's room
for six people, so please don't wait till the last minute to sign
up. We plan on conducting this and other classes on an ongoing
basis, depending on interest.
We are still running a winter tuneup special - our Work
It Over tuneup is just $49 (reg $60) through the
end of February. We are also discounting our updgraded service
packages for the month of February - our Give It The Works tuneup
is currently $79 (reg $100), and our Re-Work It is $119 (reg $150). See the
'Services' page for info on each of these packages.
Scroll down the
page for additional deals and
specials!
Saturday February 5th Feb 4, 2010 6:00 pm
Note! We'll be
open from 1:30 to 4:00 on Saturday the 5th. Then, from 4
to 5pm, we're planning on holding the first hour-long session of the
League of American Bicyclists Traffic Skills 101 course. Give me a
call at 541-740-0497 if you are planning on attending. So far we
haven't had much response, and we may postpone the class until the
13th.

New year - new life for the
blog Jan 18, 2010
4:00pm
The blog is alive again!
We let the blog go into deep hibernation after we got our email newsletter
going. It's still going, and you can sign up by sending us an email.
Note that we will be opening up late this Wednesday,
the 20th of January. Our hours on the 20th will be 1:30pm -
6pm.
A few things to mention in this first entry for the new
year:
- We are running a winter tuneup special - our Work It Over
tuneup is just $49 through the end of January.
- We have added a new service item - Drivetrain
Clean and Lube for just $12. This is a while-you-wait
service. We'll de-gunk your drivetrain and get it lubed up.
Drivetrain gunk-up is a major problem with wet winter riding, and one of
the least fun things to deal with, but one of the most
important. We'll also check out the rest of the bike and let
you know if there are other maintenance issues. Prepay and save -
three Clean and Lubes for $24!!
- We have a lot of stuff on sale. Bikes,
accessories, raingear. Lots of stuff. Of special note is...
- Yuba Mundo 6speed. We have two of the
original blue 6-speed Yuba Mundos, and we need to find them a new
home. One is in a box and ready to be shipped anywhere in the US -
$699+shipping. Bipod kickstand ($45) and
Planet Bike fenders ($30 - black, yellow, or pink!) are
extra. The other bike is built up and ready to go, with
kickstand and fenders (black, but we'll swap out yellow or pink if
you want) installed. Only $799!!! Call or
email with questions!
- Training is finally getting lined up. We are
working with Corvallis Parks & Rec to offer the League of American
Bicyclists Traffic Skills 101 class. Details will
be forthcoming, but classes are scheduled for April and May. If
you don't want to wait that long, we will be offering the same material
in 1-hour chunks here at the shop (for free!!) on
alternating Saturdays starting next month. Check back here, or
call or email for more
information!
